1930's Cast Metal St. Peter Bookends
A pair of cast metal bookends modelled as the head of St Peter, the halo set behind a stern, bearded face. Made heavy, dark, and serious — the sort of thing you’d expect to find in a church library or monastery study, propping up rows of leather-bound volumes.
Underneath, a screw hole hints that they may once have been fixed to a plinth or shelf, and faint letters mark out their foundry origin. Those small signs of manufacture tell their own story: these weren’t made as light decoration, but as proper functional objects, solid and enduring.
