A full flock of Royal Pets birds from Japan’s Senshukai, made in the 1960s–70s. Penguin, Condor, Woodpecker and Parrot — each stamped with their name, each full of character.
 
Originally sold as playful exports, they’ve since become quietly collectable, standing somewhere between Japanese kitsch and the clean-lined animal figures of Scandinavian design.
 
Smooth hardwood bodies, exaggerated beaks and eyes, and just enough whimsy to make them irresistible.
