19th Century French Pouring Bowl
Sometimes it’s the simplest things that stop you in your tracks — this rustic terracotta bowl with its little spout and pierced lug felt like it had a story to tell the second we picked it up.
Most likely French, 19th century, it would have been used in the kitchen for everyday tasks — pouring milk or cream, perhaps broth — the kind of vessel that was part of the daily rhythm of farmhouse life. The terracotta has that time-softened surface you only get with years of handling, and the scalloped painted band is a small flourish on an otherwise workaday object.
A piece that speaks to daily rituals of the past, still full of life and charm now.
