Once weighting the warp threads of a traditional Japanese loom, these carved hardwood loom weights have found a second life suspended together as an abstract hanging sculpture. Years of handling have softened their edges, while each slightly different form and proportion hints at the rhythm of the weaving process they once served.
Grouped together, they become something entirely different—part tool, part sculpture, and an object that rewards a second look.
