Antique Miniature Filigree Birdcage Ornament
A true curiosity this one.
We've gone over loads of information on what it may or may not be, ultimately landing on that it is likely a, not so simple, ornament. Take yourself back to the late Victorian era - when they loved to make small novelty items.
Did it have a purpose more than that? Perhaps to hold a thimble, maybe a dollhouse - the list is long.
What we do know is that the filigree work and detail is impeccable - there is even a little bird swinging inside. It is potentially silver, however without marks and testing we cannot be sure.
