Art Deco Brass 'Envelope' Box

A small cast brass box with a hinged lid, likely made in the early decades of the 20th century. The raised relief on the top blends the fluid lines of Art Nouveau with the sharper geometry that defined early Deco design.
 
Compact and weighty in hand, it opens smoothly on an integrated hinge and has a warm, natural patina from age. Once used for trinkets or matches, it now stands as a small, sculptural piece with a design that still feels distinctly modern.
