Art Nouveau Miniature Stick Stand Doorstop
A quirky little crossover piece — part doorstop, part miniature stick stand. Cast in copper around 1900–1910, with a classic Art Nouveau arch and foliate detailing down the spine, it was likely made as a novelty for the home rather than a serious hall stand.
The weight and shape mean it still works perfectly well as a doorstop, but the proportions also make it handy for today’s life — think kitchen utensil holder, artist’s brush stand, or just a curious bit of design to park on a shelf.
The copper has aged with a rich patina and flecks of verdigris, giving this playful object the look of something both functional and decorative — a small domestic oddity that earns its keep.
