Copper Arts & Crafts Scalloped Edge Bowl

Hammered copper with a scalloped edge — simple, sturdy, and very much of the Arts & Crafts movement, c.1900–1920.
 
The handwork is clear in the surface: irregular hammer marks, soft curves, and that honest finish the movement was all about. No fuss, no factory perfection, just a practical decorative bowl that would have sat happily on a sideboard or table, catching fruit, keys, or odds and ends.
 
Over the years it’s developed the warm glow and mottled verdigris that only copper picks up, a reminder that this was made to last and made to be used.
 
A straightforward, characterful piece of domestic craft from a time when design was about integrity as much as ornament.
