Porcelain Sculpture by Ludmila Vojířová for Royal Dux

A sculptural form with that steady, elongated line Vojířová was so good at — somewhere between figure and pure shape. She worked quietly within the Royal Dux studio through the mid-century years, and her pieces have this unmistakable clarity: no fuss, no decorative overload, just a designer who trusted the form to stand on its own.
 
What makes this one special is simply that you don’t come across her work often, especially not at this size. Royal Dux produced plenty over the decades, but named designs by Vojířová tend to surface in a much looser trickle. When they do appear, they’re usually smaller, or softened into more traditional figurines. This has the bolder, more modern line she rarely got to push.
 
A strong, hard-to-find example from a designer whose work deserves far more attention than it usually gets.
