Early 19th C Hand-forged Iron Hearth Ladle
Hand-forged iron ladle with an oversized bowl and scroll-form handle.
Originally a functional kitchen or hearth piece, although it feels far more sculptural now than practical. The surface has worn back beautifully over time, with hammer marks, uneven edges and just enough irregularity throughout to remind you it was made entirely by hand.
The sort of object that somehow survives a couple of centuries only to end up leaning casually on a shelf in South London.
Condition: Excellent - wear consistent with age and use
Size: L 40cm x W 11cm
