Early 19th Century German Nested Apothecary Weights

At first glance it looks like a small brass pot with a slightly over-engineered lid. Open it and the logic unfolds — a full graduated stack of cup weights, each nesting precisely inside the next. The lid is stamped with boxed denominations and finished with concentric turning, the hinged locking arm securing everything in place with quiet confidence.
 
These were working tools. Merchant counters. Apothecary shelves. The interiors are darkened from real use, the brass worn where hands would have lifted and replaced each piece over and over again.
 
There’s something satisfying about the order of it all — mathematics made physical, stacked neatly inside itself.
