Early 19th Century Hand Blown Bottle
Early 19th century and blown by hand, this little amber glass bottle carries all the marks of its making — ripples through the neck, a slightly lopsided base, and a scatter of bubbles suspended in the glass.
Twin applied handles give it a character somewhere between utility and ornament, while the deep kick-up on the base points to its age. Bottles like this were everyday objects in their time, but each one came out slightly different, depending on the glassworker’s hand.
Two centuries on, it’s less about function and more about presence: a small survivor of early glassmaking with all its quirks intact.
