Hand Built Studio Ceramic Head

Hand-built in dense fired clay with traces of pale blue glaze across the surface, this sculpted head captures both texture and character through heavy, expressive modelling. The form feels worked directly from the clay, with finger marks and tool marks left visible, and only selective glazing to catch the light.
 
Probably made within a European studio or art school during the mid to late 20th century, it has the immediacy of a study — direct, textured, and full of presence.
