Italian Mid-Century Concrete Architectural Panels

We weren’t entirely sure what these were meant to be — and that’s exactly why they came home with us.
 
Cast concrete panels, likely pulled from a mid-century wall or garden structure somewhere in southern Italy. Repeating vertical ribs, a soft arched top, and that slightly uneven casting you only get from something made to be practical first and decorative second. The surface has worn back over time — chalky in places, darker in others — with just enough variation across the three to stop them feeling too perfect.
 
They probably started life doing something useful — ventilation, boundary detail, a bit of structure with a bit of design — but that part’s long gone. Now they sit somewhere between architectural fragment and small-scale sculpture.
