Late 19th C Miniature Table Cabinet
£110.00Price
A wonderfully overdone little table cabinet, dating from around the late part of the 19th century.
Made in dark-stained wood and covered rather enthusiastically with applied floral, architectural and scrolling decoration, the two doors open to reveal three tiny drawers. The original lock remains in place, along with its equally tiny key.
Time has removed a fair amount of the ornament — arches stop abruptly, flowers have disappeared and symmetry has become more of a suggestion. Somehow, it is considerably better for it.
Made for keeping small things in. Now itself a very small thing worth keeping.
Condition: Good - considerable loss to decoration in places, which give the character
Size: W 16cm × D 13cm × H 19.5cm
