Late 19th C Victorian Table Mirror
Ebonised wood with incised geometric decoration and red rubbed detail, typical of the Aesthetic Movement’s taste for surface pattern and subtle exotic influence. The uprights and feet are lathe-turned, giving it that unmistakably late 19th century domestic proportion. The mirror plate shows age-related foxing, consistent with its period.
Originally designed as a dressing table mirror, it would have had a rear support or swing mechanism, now missing. Even without it, the frame holds its own — the dark finish and fine line work giving it depth without feeling overly ornate.
A decorative Victorian piece with just enough wear to remind you it’s lived a life.
