Late Victorian Embossed Metal Mirror

An embossed metal frame with a mirror that’s seen better days — which is exactly why we picked it up.
 
Pressed tin or thin sheet metal over a wooden structure, decorated with repeating floral and foliate patterns that lean somewhere between late Victorian and early 20th century decorative work. The surface has darkened over time, with oxidation, splits, and areas of loss exposing the layers beneath. The mirror plate itself is softly foxed, muting reflections rather than giving anything back too clearly.
 
We didn’t go near this for perfection. It’s the opposite. The wear, the breaks, the slightly uneven edges — all of it adds up to something far more interesting than a clean example would be. It reads like a fragment that’s made it this far, and decided to stay exactly as it is.
 
Condition: Good - flaking a bit on the front, with some sharp edges (see above)
