A solid cast bronze ashtray with a Brutalist edge — literally. The rim is worked in relief with abstract geometric forms, almost like a tiny cityscape pressed into the metal.
Likely mid-20th century, European, when designers were pushing bronze into modernist shapes. We're leaning Italian, however cannot be certain.
Weighty, sculptural, and just as at home as a catch-all as it ever was for ash.
