Mid-Century Brutalist Cast Candleholders
There’s something almost architectural about these.
Made from heavily textured cast metal, the surfaces look as though they’ve been built up rather than simply cast — rough, irregular and almost molten in places. The larger candelabrum takes nine candles, while the two smaller holders repeat the same construction on a much more compact scale.
They date from around the 1960s–70s, when this kind of deliberately primitive, brutalist metalwork was finding its way into domestic objects. What could have been fairly ordinary candleholders instead feel much closer to small pieces of sculpture.
Made in Israel and unmarked, they were found together and we’ve kept them that way — although the large candelabrum and smaller pair are also available separately.
