Mid Century Burr Walnut Sculpture on Base

Formed from a naturally occurring walnut burr, this piece leans into the material rather than trying to tame it. The cut faces reveal dense, swirling grain patterns, while the rest of the surface is left rugged and deeply textured, with natural voids and growth pockets intact. It’s mounted on a low, purpose-made cast metal base, giving the whole thing a grounded, architectural presence.
 
We were drawn to this one for its confidence and physicality. It reads properly as sculpture rather than ornament, rewarding being viewed from every angle. Anonymous, but very deliberate — the kind of object that doesn’t need a name attached to justify its place in a room.
