Mid Century Hand Carved Wooden Animal Bell
Chunky, weathered, and full of charm — this wooden animal bell was originally used to track livestock, most likely in rural India or Nepal. Hand-carved from a single block of hardwood, it features a deep groove around the middle — not just decorative, but also to reduce weight and help prevent cracking over time.
It still gives off a decent clang when moved, thanks to the original wooden clapper inside. The old fibre cord is still intact, and there are a few repairs — the kind of fix that suggests it was actually used, not just made for show. Likely dates to somewhere between the 1940s and 1960s.
A great decorative piece with real texture and presence — hang it, hook it, or just let it sit and speak for itself.
Condition: Excellent - wear and patination consistent with age and use
Size: W 19cm x D 7cm x H 12cm (w/o cord)
