Mid Century Indian Cast Bronze Bell

A little bronze curiosity with a lot of presence — a bird perched above a hollow body, its surface pierced with zig-zag vents. Inside, a pellet still rattles, giving it away as a bell, likely from India, mid-20th century.
 
These small cast bronzes were used in ritual or domestic settings, often to accompany prayer. This one has aged to a deep, even patina, with the bird still standing proud.
 
Condition: Excellent - lovely patination
