Mid Century Mexican Ceramic Elephant Candle Holder
Brian's grandmother (at 98 years young) had a set of these hidden away in a cupboard in the dining room - only coming out for special meals. He always gave them a visit each time he was there, even if they weren't coming out. They are still around, being used for special occasions to this day!
They are inspired off Mexican Tree of Life style - with little birds adorning the animals. They are quite uncommon these days, due to their fragility. They are only single fired, which makes them highly susceptible to breakage.
Whenever we come across one, we snap them up immediately - and this elephant was no different. Perhaps memories for another family to start....
