Norwegian Bronze Sculpture by Linnea Blakeus Calder
Originally created to mark a moment in Norway’s offshore industry, this small bronze has far more presence than its backstory suggests. Calder’s figures tend to feel slightly off-balance and human at the same time — more gesture than detail — and this one stands with that same quiet, grounded stance.
It began life as a corporate commission, but it reads more like a compact piece of contemporary Scandinavian sculpture. Patinated bronze, solid weight, and just enough character to hold its own on a shelf without shouting about it.
Industrial history, distilled into something you can pick up in one hand.
North Sea mythology, but make it bronze.
