A pair of hand-modelled terracotta corbels from southern Italy, each sculpted with a stylised female mask beneath classical scrollwork. Likely mid-20th century, drawing on the region’s long tradition of architectural ornament made in raw local clay.
Each piece shows the irregularities and texture of hand-formed work — soft lines, tool marks, and subtle firing tones that give them real presence. Whether displayed as wall brackets or sculptural fragments, they carry that unmistakable warmth of southern craftsmanship.
