Romarin Grazebrook "Body" Painted Mirror
Another striking painted mirror by British outsider artist Romarin Grazebrook (1934–2024). This work features a stylised human figure divided into blocks of colour, with overlapping tones of green, pink, and blue giving it a slightly off-centre, layered feel. The figure is simplified but deliberate, typical of Romarin’s hand-painted mirror panels.
Romarin Grazebrook was a self-taught British artist whose outsider works are only now beginning to be properly appreciated. Working largely in obscurity, she created hand-painted mirror and glass pieces, often blending the human form with symbolic or emotional themes. Her work feels personal, sometimes playful, sometimes raw—and always deeply felt.
Discovered by chance, her body of work is rare, distinctive, and quietly powerful.
