Sculptural Studio Pottery Flower Vessel
A wonderfully unusual studio pottery vessel, with a rounded upper body sitting high on a narrow cylindrical base and an irregular, hand-modelled opening.
Hidden inside is a small cylindrical holder, perfectly positioned for a single long stem or branch — giving the piece an almost ikebana-like purpose as well as its rather extraordinary form.
Unmarked, although almost certainly by the same unknown hand as its long-necked companion.
One stem. Absolutely no need for a second.
