Sculptural Teak Root Bowl

A large sculptural bowl carved from a single piece of Indonesian teak root, with the natural shape of the timber doing much of the design work.

The deep centre has been carved and smoothed, while the outside keeps the knots, splits, hollows and rough edges of the original root. Heavy, tactile and completely individual, with enough going on that we’d resist the urge to put anything in it.

A very good piece of wood, interfered with just enough.
