Turned in 1995 and signed “WW” on the base, this burr elm vessel is all about the wood itself. The form is simple and low, made to show off the swirling grain and clusters of knots that make burr so distinctive.
Whoever WW was, they had a good hand for shaping — clean lines, smooth finish, nothing overworked.
A one-off piece by an independent maker, with the date and initials giving it just enough story to place it in time.
