Studio Craft Wooden Snake Sculpture

Hand-carved wooden snake sculpture with a tiny recessed bowl worked into the centre of the form.
 
Made from dense dark hardwood with a beautifully exaggerated curve and just enough detail to suggest a face without tipping fully into novelty carving. Likely produced as a decorative craft piece originally, though it sits far more comfortably in the world of small abstract objects than traditional souvenir ware.
 
One of those pieces that made complete sense to us the second we picked it up, even if explaining why is slightly harder.
 
Condition: Excellent - minor cracking as hardwood shrinks in age
