Travertine Sculptural Pestle and Mortar
£75.00Price
A wonderfully strange pestle and mortar, carved from pale travertine with an almost architectural form.
It took us a little while to work out exactly what was going on here. The pestle works horizontally through the opening in the side, grinding against a shallow groove inside, with the contents then poured from the opening at the top.
Slightly over-engineered perhaps, but considerably more interesting than a bowl and stick.
Mystery solved. We think.
