These hardened steel threading dies spent their working lives cutting screw threads into steel bar. Every profile is different, dictated entirely by function rather than appearance.
Which makes it all the more satisfying that they now feel closer to little pieces of
modernist sculpture than engineering tools. Heavy in the hand, beautifully machined and carrying decades of honest wear, they've earned a much quieter retirement.
