Vintage Levantine Tinned Copper Charger

A hand-worked Levantine tinned-copper charger, made in the early–mid 20th century with the traditional combination of hammered copper and a thin tin wash.
 
The mix of metal and technique is classic for the region — copper shaped and chased by hand, then flashed with tin to give that softer, silvery surface. You see pieces like this across parts of the eastern Mediterranean, where workshops produced practical trays and serving plates that also carried patterns, symbols, or simple geometric decoration.
 
We picked this one for its feel: the wear on the tinning, the weight of the copper underneath, and the way the patterning catches the light. It has that lived-in, honest look we’re always drawn to — something that comes from use rather than embellishment.
