Vintage Papua New Guinea Carved Clay Whistles
Hand-formed from local clay and decorated with incised geometric patterns, these small whistle forms come from Papua New Guinea, where such objects were traditionally made in coastal and highland communities. The pierced openings and hollow bodies suggest their use as sound instruments — blown during ceremony or play — each one shaped and patterned by hand.
Their dry, weathered clay surface speaks to age and use, the kind of objects that carry the mark of both craft and everyday ritual.
