Vintage Southeast Asian Hand Formed Pot
Formed in ceramic and finished in a deep brown glaze, this small jar is deliberately irregular. The body twists gently rather than sitting perfectly true, and the carved surface has the uneven rhythm you only get from a hand moving, not a mould repeating itself. The lid fits well, but not tightly — again, more human than precise.
We chose it because it doesn’t try to pass as something more refined than it is. The slight imbalance, the soft edges, the way the glaze settles into the carving — all of it points to a piece made by hand, at its own pace. It’s the kind of object that feels better for being a little off.
